Your Appointments

First  Appointment – Consultation and Exam

On your first visit to the practice you will be welcomed by one of our chiropractic assistants who will guide you through the necessary forms to fill out. The purpose of these forms is to get an idea of your health throughout your life, starting from birth.

As you age, your body accumulates layers of injuries that ultimately lead to what condition you’re experiencing now. Even if you just fell down and hurt your back this week, your outcome depended on the stability of your structure/body at that moment. We need to be aware of these bumps, falls and accidents so we can give you an accurate prognosis, and provide the correct care for you.

Your lifestyle, also plays an important role in your current condition, and in how fast correction will be for you. For this reason, we will also need to know what you eat and drink, what your activity level is, and how much mental stress you experience.

After the forms are completed, you will see one of the practitioners who will review your information and ask further questions to help find the cause of your problem. Then they will examine you and will be performing tests to see:

  • How well your joints move
  • Posture and breathing (photos may be taken)
  • Nervous system function (your nerves control EVERYTHING)
  • Reflexes, muscle strength
  • Orthopedic, neurologic, chiropractic exams

If any x-rays need to be taken, we will do so on the first or second visit. The cost for one area of the spine is about 50, full spine is 100.

Depending on the situation, you may or may not receive an adjustment (treatment) on your first  appointment. This largely depends on what we find and what is best for you, but normally you will receive treatment on this visit. We may need time to review our findings and decide what will be the best course of care for you.

Expect to be in the office around 45 to 60 minutes for your initial visit.

Second Appointment – Report of Findings

During this visit we will explain our findings to you. We will help you understand what is wrong and give our recommendations for correcting the problem. (this may even happen on your first appointment) You will receive treatment and be on your way to a healthier life!

 Well being and Maintenance

Once you are well your practitioner may make further recommendations to maintain and improve your long term health and well being.  Your body and your health will benefit from regular care, similarly to a car that needs regular services and MOT to run and perform well.
